MOMA RF Microneedling

Radiofrequency (RF) microneedling is a powerful skin rejuvenation treatment that can restore a healthier, more youthful-looking complexion. This treatment is performed using a specialized device that combines two proven skin revitalization modalities:

• Microneedling – Microneedling, or collagen induction therapy, involves the use of fine gauge needles to puncture the surface of the skin. Tiny wounds are created as a result, triggering the body’s natural healing response.
• Radiofrequency energy – RF energy can be delivered into dermal tissue to cause controlled thermal damage, which kickstarts restorative processes.

Microneedling with radiofrequency works to rejuvenate the skin through controlled microwounding. The microdamage caused by the device’s needles and the RF heat initiates natural regenerative processes, including the production of elastin and collagen, to promote tighter, smoother, firmer, and healthier-looking skin.

In most cases, microneedling with RF treatments take between 30 and 45 minutes. To begin, the skin in the treatment area will be cleansed, and a topical anesthetic will be applied to numb the site.

The RF microneedling handpiece will then be placed over a section of skin in the treatment area. The microneedles will perforate the skin, and as they do, RF energy will be emitted via the needles to heat the deeper dermal layers. You may feel a temporary sensation of warmth due to the RF heat. This process will be repeated until the entire targeted area has been treated.

When the RF microneedling process is complete, a nourishing serum can be gently massaged into the skin.

There is minimal-to-no downtime after RF microneedling. However, some patients experience redness and/or swelling for 24-48 hours post-treatment. Temporary skin sensitivity may also occur but will resolve within a day or two.

It is important to follow all aftercare instructions provided by Dr. Charles to ensure optimal healing and results. You will need to avoid sun exposure while the area heals, and you may be advised to use specific skincare products for a few days to enhance your results.
